Geographic objects on the Earth are represented by geographic features on a map. Understanding geographic feature names and their definitions or their descriptions are very important to support the use of geographic data and/or geographic information. The objective of composing this dictionary is to fulfill issue in defining terms or geographic feature names. Many terms or aliases of the geographic objects or geographic feature names have been collected and have been defined in this dictionary. But all off them are not exist in any region; some of them are only exist in one region specifically. This dictionary contains terms commonly used in geographic data and/or geographic information. This dictionary is classified as a terms dictionary, because of the specific fields it involves. Most of entries are term of features, while some of them are terms related to feature names. The terms and definitions sources in this dictionary are taken from some national and international standards related to (geo) spatial data and/or (geo) spatial information. This dictionary can be used by those who want to find out the terms and definitions briefly about geographic objects commonly perform in a map. Hopefully, a lot of advantages can be found from this dictionary to promote and to encourage geospatial interoperability program by making the same perception among geospatial stakeholders in viewing geographic objects and their definitions and/or their descriptions. The same perception among geospatial stakeholders need to support geospatial data and/or information exchange among institutions.
